Unreal Engine 4 simple Oblivion AI system (WIP)
A downloadable asset pack
A simple system I am creating for a university project to attempt to recreate the radiant AI from The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.
Spawn in a custom amount of pawns (people) into a map by changing one number in the level blueprint.
Each pawn will have different characteristics, randomly generated when spawned.
Pawns will enter different states when certain conditions are met, like being hungry or wanting to visit a bank. When in a state, a pawn will go to another pawn that can fulfil the pawn's current needs like going to a food source when hungry.
Current activities include:
- Being aggressive towards the player
- Going to a food source to eat
- Going to a drinking source to drink
- Going to a ‘romance’ source for some ‘love’
- Going to a bank
- A generic activity object which can act as a parent to add other activities
To-do:
- Add more activities
- Make movement more realistic
- The ability for NPCs to have a conversation
- A way to aggro NPCs
- Possibly a queue system
Feel free to use for non-commercial and commercial projects, just give credit, please.

I'm working on some living AI myself. This is impressive, never thought about adding a lust want xD mine lower variables, and go to stations to recharge. Some spawn things in hands and play instruments ect. I too found inspiration in ElderScrolls :3 nice work
Hello. Is this still in active development?
I wouldn't call it inactive but I wouldn't call it active. The current situation is, if I have a few spare minutes, I'll work on it. Why do you ask?
Oh I was just curious. I may have use for something like this eventually and I just wondered if the version here was the final state or if I should check back occasionally. (Like, for example, eight months later...) :P
Well, you got me there. 8 Months with no updates. I plan on continuing this for my dissertation which I'm assuming will commence this October. So, I will deffinatley be updating this (after starting from scratch). What might you use this for?
Oh, I meant no shade. Moreso to comment on how long it took me to reply. I've been experimenting with some Skyrim-like gameplay. Certainly, nothing I could ever hope to finish on my own but fun to tot with nonetheless.
thamk you
