A downloadable game

This excellent 3D character maker game is a fun and engaging way for children to let their imagination run wild while creating a cool character of their own design.

Has your child ever wanted to create their own fun little character without the means to do so? Well, this game is perfect for them to do exactly that. In this 3D character maker, children will get the opportunity to select pre-made scalable parts, before dragging and dropping those parts onto snappable points on a default character model.

Children get to choose the head, arms, legs, and even the body itself, giving them plenty of options when creating a fun character. After that, they’ll even be able to view and animate their character with a choice of cool backgrounds too, and even name their creation too!

This was a fun challenge to make, this was one of my first real in-depth dives into making a 3D game. I have done 3D before but developing this web game really enhanced my understanding of rigs as that was essential to manage this project.

This game also has 18 tasks to give players something more to do. These tasks were all designed to be playful, funny and encourage the user to use all character creation tools this game offers.

There are 12 characters, each with a head, torso, leg and arm. You can drag and drop to use these parts to create a character you want. You can also resize the body parts. You can preview your model in 3D, you can rotate the camera, change the background, change the ground and animate your charatcer. Furthermore, you can pause the animation and then use a slider to pick the perfect frame you want your character to be in.

UI design was one of the core challenges with this game. We went though about 7 different versions before we arrived at this layout.
